Device Success Out of the Blue
(June 2019) We’ve ate supper and everyone’s bathed. Always a process. Then it happens. Payton walks into the kitchen, grabs her device off the island, and I hear it: “I want juice.” I immediately stopped helping our other daughter and got Payton her juice. I was so happy. I texted most of our family. They might not see it as a big mile stone; but you and I know, it means the world. She goes on to continue using it to request food and drink. We’re ecstatic. Then a couple weeks later, I hear it again: “I need to go to the bathroom.” WAIT WHAT?!?! She goes potty. SUCCESS! It’s working. Now we can’t wait for her to learn more. Are you sick? How do you feel? What hurts? These are all questions that still plague us as she can’t answer them; but it won’t be long. Seeing these gains means the world to us. It’s a light at the end of the tunnel. I know there’s just another tunnel to go through; but still… there’s light.
